For those who enjoy road trips, the Holiday Trail of Lights is your ticket to winter cheer. Stretching from Alexandria to Natchitoches, the trail brings travelers through eight light-adorned cities hosting holiday parades, markets and more all season long.

If an outdoor stroll is more your speed, head to New Orleans’ City Park for Celebration in the Oaks. It’s packed with dazzling Christmas displays, delicious food and festive fun, making it a great option for the whole family.

In the mood for something uniquely local? Take a drive along the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. There you’ll find a one-of-a-kind celebration featuring bonfires on the levee. Culminating in their lighting on Christmas Eve, the bonfires are a longstanding Cajun tradition said to light the way for Papa Noël.
